What GSM is suitable for a hay tarp?
There is no single universal GSM. The practical choice depends on stack size, climate, wind, handling frequency, target service period, reinforcement and tie-down layout. GSM should be evaluated with the complete construction.
Which color is commonly used for outdoor hay protection?
Light-colored or reflective outer surfaces can help limit heat absorption, while darker inner surfaces may support light blocking. The final color should be selected around climate, market preference and the stored material.
How should a large hay tarp be reinforced?
Large covers normally need rope-reinforced hems, strengthened corners, reliable seams and fixing points positioned for the actual stack and wind exposure. The tie-down plan should be reviewed with the tarp specification.
How is UV resistance specified?
State the destination, season, whether exposure is continuous and the expected service period. UV additive wording alone is not a lifetime guarantee; construction, color, climate and installation all affect aging.
