Covering Sheet
Covering Sheet
A covering sheet is a piece of paper placed in front of a document or series of documents prior to scanning. Cover sheets usually contain barcoded information, which streamlines the electronic indexing process when using a multifunction device. Cover sheets are a valuable tool for financial institutions to use when scanning customer, collateral, or loan documents to expedite the backlog process. A cover sheet is a document that provides a brief description of the contents of a package of materials to help identify and summarize them. It may be completely blank or printed with standardized words or company graphics. In a business environment, cover sheets may also provide a quick reference to the document’s purpose and location in the package. For example, a fax cover sheet lists the sender’s name and fax number to clearly distinguish it from other faxed material.
A cover sheet can also be used to protect the platens of a heat press during long-term use. Choosing the right one depends on the material being printed, whether it is performance wear or something else that can scorch easily. Non-stick or kraft cover sheets are recommended for this application because they reduce the buildup of static electricity and leave a smooth, matte finish on the heat transfer vinyl being applied.
